10-year-old California Boy Breaks Swimming Record Set By Michael Phelps

10-year-old Clark Kent (yeah, that’s really his name), lives in Central California and has earned the nickname Superman. Clark Kent Apuada has only been swimming for four years, yet he’s making waves as an extraordinary swimmer. In a competition last weekend, he finished first in seven events, breaking a longstanding record set by none other than Olympian Michael Phelps. His time in the 100-meter butterfly was 1:09:38, a little more than a second faster than Phelps who set the record in 1995, when he was the same age as Apuda. Phelps of course went on to win 28 Olympic medals. Another record this kid just might beat, as his dream is to one day compete in the Olympics.
