…with money! Gosh! It also turns out that we are all lying to each other!

This annual survey called “Couples and Money” found that 1 in 5 people in relationships think their partner is terrible with money. Money problems are a huge deal in some relationships, and one partner thinking the other is bad with money means you are 10x more likely to break up!

Here are some other crazy stats from the survey:

1. 78% of people in serious relationships manage their finances together, as a couple. 22% separately.

2. 19% would never spend a bunch of money on something without talking about it with their partner first. But 1 in 5 people said they’d spend over $500. While just 5% of us would spend over $10,000 without mentioning it to our partner.

3. 1 in 8 people in relationships have kept a secret purchase from their partner in the last six months. About 1 in 8 also have a secret bank account or credit card.

4. 6% of us have a secret will!
