Award winning stage actress Marilee Talkington, who moved from Woodland to New York to work on stage will be on tonight’s episode of NCIS.  She will play a blind witness to an assault case, which is particularly interesting because Talkington is legally blind. According to the Woodland Daily Democrat, she’s been legally blind since her early 20s after being born with no central vision and has to depend on her peripheral sight. In a press release, Talkington said of her character on tonight’s NCIS, “So often blind characters push into cliché. But this character was written as emotionally complex, humorous and powerful, which is incredibly rare. What’s even rarer is to have a blind character be portrayed by an actual legally blind actor.” And, that’s how she could make history. The Woodland Democrat is speculating that Talkington may be the first legally blind actress to portray a legally blind character.

Tonight’s episode of NCIS, which is also the show’s 350th episode, will air on CBS tonight at 8 p.m.

And, we could see more of her. She is set to appear in a supporting role in an upcoming pilot for The CW called, “In the Dark.”
