After a strong start when it premiered Sunday night, American Idol got clobbered by The Voice last night.

Last night was the first night The Voice and the revival of American Idol went up against each other, and the winner is clear. The Voice won the face off.

The Voice had 11.7 million viewers and a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49 years old, topping American Idol’s 8.4 million viewers and a 1.8 rating, according to Variety.

The ratings for The Voice were barely affected by American Idol. In fact, this was the the most-watched broadcast of The Voice in the past year. Meanwhile, Idol was down over 20%  from its debut on Sunday.

If you’re watching, what do you think about the Idol reboot?
