Twitter Warns Users To Change Passwords After Finding Bug

Upon finding a bug in its system, Twitter advised over 300 million users to change their passwords to ensure safety and privacy.

Upon finding a bug in its system, Twitter advised over 300 million users to change their passwords to ensure safety.

The company announced that the bug seemed to be storing the passwords of certain users. They believe they caught the issue before it could cause problems.

According the KCRA, the company said:

“We recently found a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log. We fixed the bug and have no indication of a breach or misuse by anyone. As a precaution, consider changing your password on all services where you’ve used this password.”
