Toys R Us Closing 182 Stores, 27 In California

Toys R Us just announced its closing another 182 stores nationwide, about 20 percent of its properties. It’s an end of an era!

Toys R Us just announced its closing another 182 stores nationwide, about 20 percent of its properties. The toy store filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year and has had trouble fending off competition from online stores and discount chains. Right now there are 27 California Toys R Us locations on the chopping block, including Folsom, Yuba City, Fairfield and Stockton. However, not all of the closings are definite, some may be avoided if the toy store can negotiate favorable lease terms.
