3-Year-Old Shoots Pregnant Mom After Finding Dad’s Handgun In Backseat

A 3-year-old girl playing with her father’s handgun that she found in the backseat of her car accidentally shot her pregnant mother in a scary accident.

A toddler in Indiana accidentally shot her pregnant mother with a handgun in a scary Tuesday afternoon incident.

According to Indy Star, the 3-year-old girl was playing with her father’s handgun when the incident occurred. She found the gun in the her family car’s backseat while her father was shopping inside a Plato’s Closet.

Although her 1-year-old brother was also in the car, he thankfully didn’t suffer any injuries.

Following the shooting, a Plato’s Closet employee reportedly brought the children inside the store. They also described the scene of the accident in a statement to the Times of Northwest Indiana, saying:

“I walked outside and there was just blood falling everywhere.”

The toddler’s father, Menzo Brazien was later taken into custody by police. He is currently facing charges of child endangerment.

Police Chief Joe Petruch gave a statement about the incident, saying:

“A loaded weapon with children in the back seat: real careless act. I hope she survives the gunshot wound.”
