Southwest Airlines One Step Closer To Offering Flights To Hawaii

Southwest Airlines was just granted a permit that allows the low cost carrier to operate at the Honolulu airport.

Southwest Airlines was just granted a permit that allows the low cost carrier to operate at the Honolulu airport. Southwest is still in the process of getting permits that would allow them to make trans-Pacific flights. Southwest still plans to sell tickets for flight to Hawaii later this year, but no date has been announced, nor routes. Southwest had planned to begin offering Hawaii flights by the end of this year, but officials have said the launch date could be pushed back to early 2019, depending on when it receives approval from the FAA.
