Sacramento Good Samaritan GoFundMe Page Raises Over 100K in 2 Days

The GoFundMe page set up for the Sacramento Good Samaritan who was hit by a suspected drunk driver while helping a stranded motorist has raised over $100,000.

The generosity of this community and behind is just incredible. This past weekend, early Sunday morning, while driving home from work, Mark Poss pulled his car over on 15th street exit in Sacramento to help a stranded motorist. Mark and the other man were pushing the car down the 15th Street offramp of eastbound Highway 50 when a suspected drunk driver crashed into them from behind, severing one of Mark’s legs. He was rushed to UCD Medical Center in Sacramento for life saving surgery. Mark is still in ICU and is expected to be in the hospital for another 2-3 weeks with months of rehab.

Mark and his wife Sarah have a one and half year old son and will use the money raised on their GoFundMe page to help support his family and the mounting medical bills. They have a goal of raising 150 thousand dollars and as of Thursday morning, they’ve raised over $101,000.
