Kid Rock and Kanye West will join President Donald Trump this morning at the White House where Trump will sign the Music Modernization Act. The legislation updates how musicians, producers and recording engineers are compensated when their songs are played on radio and streamed. The law requires royalty payments for music made before 1972. That hasn’t always been the case across all platforms where you get your music. The legislation passed unanimously in both houses of Congress.
