Oprah Winfrey delivered a speech last night, Jan. 7, that spoke out to the #MeToo movement. Winfrey accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement. She also supported the #MeToo movement by wearing all-black to the event.
There were smiles, teary-eyes, and a standing ovation for her powerful speech as she said:
“I want all the girls watching here now to know that a new day is on the horizon!”
As a result of this speech, many on social media are vying for Winfrey to run as a presidential candidate in 2020. Who knows? Maybe it’ll happen! She’s apparently “actively thinking” about running, according to Free Beacon.
