Olivia Newton-John has revealed she is battling cancer for a third time, opening up to Australia’s Sunday Night. She also opened up for the first time about her second bout with the disease in 2013.

The 69-year-old was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, then a minor car accident in 2013 led to the discovery that the cancer had returned.

“I thought, ‘It’s my life,’ and I just decided to keep it to myself,'” she says of her reason for not speaking publicly about it at that time.

Now, she is going public with her third battle after discovering a tumor at the base of her spine last year. She shared that she has undergone radiation therapy but also relies on medical marijuana grown by husband, John Easterling, on the couples Santa Barbara ranch. She uses the cannabis to help with pain and sleep.

She remains optimistic, calling it a “journey” instead of a battle. “I believe I will win over it, and that’s my goal,” she said.
