Meghan Markle is breaking royal tradition by making a speech at her wedding reception. She’ll be making a toast in place of her father.

Meghan Markle is planning on doing things her way from the get-go. She’ll reportedly be breaking royal wedding protocol by making a toast at the reception.
Meghan wants to take the opportunity to say a few affectionate words towards Prince Harry. She also wants the chance to thank Queen Elizabeth for hosting the celebration at Windsor Castle.
Although traditionally the bride’s father makes a toast at the reception, a source told the Sunday Times that Meghan will instead. The source said:
“The feeling is if Meghan’s father doesn’t speak for her, she wants to have the chance to thank her husband and everyone who has supported them. Harry thinks it’s a great idea.”
We’ll have to find out what she says after the event, as the wedding reception is a private event. The royal wedding is fast approaching on May 19.
