In a bombshell announcement this morning, NBC fired long-time ‘Today’ host Matt Lauer for “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.”

This is the latest in a string of revelations of powerful men in the entertainment industry being taken down by sexual misconduct allegations.

Lauer was one of the top hosts and a major player in morning show TV, hosting on ‘Today’ for 20 years.

NBC announced the firing this morning with a message sent by NBC News Chairman Andy Lack.

“Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender,” Lack said.

According to Variety, Lauer had been making $25 million a year.
