You may remember when Lyft helped out after the hurricanes in Florida and Texas last year by taking people to shelters free of charge. Well, now they’re teaming up with the American Cancer Society for a program called “Road to Recovery.” Under the new program Lyft takes cancer patients, free of charge, to their appointments and treatments.

Right now it’s only available in Los Angeles and a handful of other major cities. But, if it continues to be successful, we’ll likely see it come to Sacramento soon. Patients who want to use the service don’t order a ride through the app. Instead they call the American Cancer Society helpline to set it up and Lyft covers the cost.
