The Incredibles 2 scored the biggest opening for an animated film over the weekend. The Pixar sequel earned $180 million, blowing away the previous record of $135 million set in 2016 by Finding Dory. The second Incredibles movie also had the eighth biggest debut of all time, just ahead of 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Ocean’s 8 dropped to a distant second with $19.6 million. Tag, starring Jeremy Renner and John Hamm, opened in third with $14.6 million. Solo: A Star Wars Story finished fourth followed by Deadpool 2.  And, the movie Gotti, starring John Travolta, got whacked at the box office opening with just $1.7 million.
