A human-sized nutcracker resembling David Bowie has been recovered by police after being stolen from the Steubenville Nutcracker Village in Ohio and taken for a joy ride.

Police say the “Starman” nutcracker – painted with Bowie’s iconic lightening bolt across its face – was singled out and taken in the middle of the night from the exhibit of over one hundred hand handcrafted six foot tall nutcrackers. UPI reports the whole thing was caught on tape. Security cameras captured footage of a woman dragging the giant nutcracker to an SUV and driving off with the artwork.

Police say two women were arrested on theft charges after turning the nutcracker over to authorities.

The Steubenville Nutcracker Village posted a photo of the police officers posing with “The Starman” after its safe return.
