Four nominations – and one big disappointment.

The nominations for the Golden Globes were announced this morning and much to my delight ‘Lady Bird’ has been nominated in several categories.

Not a big surprise since the movie celebrating growing up and coming of age in Sacramento has taken America by storm. The movie is an inspiring and delightful film written and directed by Sacramento native Greta Gerwig.

The one big disappointment is no nomination for Greta Gerwig for Best Director.

‘Lady Bird’ received four nominations:

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy

Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy – Saoirse Ronan

Best Supporting Actress in a Motion picture – Musical or Comedy – Laurie Metcalf

Best Screenplay – Motion Picture

The 75th Golden Globe Awards will air live on January 7th on NBC.
