8-year-old Hailey Dawson of Las Vegas is not letting her disability stop her. Hailey was born without three fingers on her right hand because of a rare birth defect. She’s been learning to live though, with the help of a prosthetic hand, thanks to engineers at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. However, she’s not letting that hold her back.

Hailey came up with the goal of throwing out the first pitch at every major league ballpark about a year ago and had already crossed off our Bay Area teams. Then, on Sunday she accomplished her goal down at Angels Stadium Sunday by throwing out the first pitch.

Hailey told Good Morning America, “I just completed my ‘Journey for 30,’ and now it’s time just to relax.”
