Cathleen the dog, a 6-year-old Great Pyrenees mix, walked 20 miles to return to the family that had to give her away.

Cathleen’s family had to put her up for adoption after they moved to a house without a fenced yard. The family moved to Seminole, Oklahoma and gave Cathleen away to someone in Prague, 20 miles away.

At the end of December, Cathleen walked all the way from her home in Prague to her original family. Despite the fact that 20 miles is an insane journey for a dog, this happened in winter, too! Not only that, but Cathleen made this trek twice.

Animal shelter manager Rebecca Acker told Buzzfeed:

“I haven’t seen anything like this before. She’s probably traveled the most out of all our dogs.”

The Seminole Humane Society posted Cathleen’s story on its Facebook page and it took off.

Here’s hoping the extra boost helps Cathleen find a good loving home because she, like all pets, deserves one!
