Candlestick Point Opening Campsites Next Week

Candlestick Park is gone, but San Francisco 49ers and Giants fans will forever remember shiver through games in the cold, windswept stadium.
Starting next week, you’ll be able to pitch a tent and camp overnight at Candlestick Point Recreation Area. The park sits just south of where the former stadium stood. The 6 urban campsites are complimented by panoramic views of the San Francisco bay, nature trails, fishing piers and picnic sites.
Starting Monday October 1st, campers can make reservations online at Reserve California for $35 a night. Additionally, the campsites are expected to be very popular, and advance reservations are recommended.
