Twins born just minutes apart outside of Bakersfield have completely different birth years!
Joaquin was born first at 11:58 p.m. on Dec. 31st. Then, 18 minutes later his sister was born at 12:16 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2018. The twins were born about a month earlier than expected, but are doing great.
So, how rare is it for twins to be born in separate years? According The Book of Odds, the chances of this happening are about 1 in 59,000. The doctor who delivered the babies told the local news, ‘I’ve been doing this for 35 years and I’ve never had this happen before.”
