AMC Theatres is offering a new loyalty program where you can see up to 12 movies a month for $19.95. It’s called AMC Stubs A-List and is set to launch Tuesday. Members will be allowed to see a movie up to three times per week at any of their 650 theaters in North America. It’s important to note AMC defines a week as starting on Friday and ending on Thursday. In a statement AMC said, “We believe that our current and future loyal guests will be interested in this type of program, as AMC Stubs A-List rewards guests with something that no one else offers: the very best of AMC, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema and RealD 3D up to 3 times per week, for one simple, sustainable price.”

The word “sustainable” takes a shot at MoviePass, the independent movie ticket subscription service that has lost millions of dollars with low monthly subscription fees starting at $6.95.  AMC’s Stubs A-List does have some benefits over MoviePass because it does not restrict the format and IMAX and 3-D movies are included. It also allows you to buy your tickets in advance as well as last minute. You can also get free upgrades at the snack bar.
