This is as hard core as it gets. Two elderly men fled their nursing home in Germany to attend the world’s largest heavy metal festival, Wacken Open Air.

Their residency alerted the police as soon as they determined the two were missing. According to Deutsche Welle, police found the runaways at the colossal music festival dubbed “the Metal Mecca” at 3 a.m. – after the last bands finished their sets for the night, so these guys are dedicated.

This year’s Wacken festival lineup included Judas Priest, Danzig, Ghost, Hatebreed, In Flames and many others. 190 groups performed over four days to sold out crowds.

Once discovered, police said the aging metal-heads were “disoriented and dazed,” but reluctant to leave, so the police had to send them to the nursing home in a taxi which was escorted by a police car.
